Julia Scheib

LMT and MSOT | Occupational Therapy Specialist

Julia came to the field of massage therapy after training and working as an occupational therapist. In 2019, she earned her Master’s of Science in OT from Salus University, where she completed research on stress-management techniques for new moms and also researched sensory strategies for nursing-home caregivers to help residents with dementia feel comfortable and safe. After graduating, she worked as a home health OT caring for patients after hospitalization. She made the switch to practicing massage in April of 2023 and worked in a variety of settings, from a chiropractic office to a spa, before joining Focused Care.

Having experienced plenty of stress-related ailments herself, Julia understands that lifestyle changes and self-care techniques can sometimes only go so far to alleviate stress and pain. She is thankful every day to be practicing massage therapy and it gives her so much joy to be able to offer a little refuge from the world and help clients relax, feel better and get out of pain.

Julia sees massage as a science and also as an art form–a collaboration between the therapist and client, with the result being a state of comfort, ease and enjoyment for the client. She always hopes to bring a sense of beauty to her work so that her clients can have a wonderful experience while meeting their goals for treatment.

Julia uses modalities including Swedish massage, neuromuscular/trigger point therapy, and myofascial release according to her clients’ goals, needs and preferences.
